Walker Tower in Chelsea

Ralph Thomas Walker, who was hailed in The New York Times as the “architect of the century,” designed Walker Tower, which was completed in 1929.

Located in the heart of Chelsea, Walker Tower has now been transformed into 47 luxury condominium residences that incorporate the building’s original design details and includes all of the conveniences of modern, upscale residential living, becoming it tower among celebrities and a-listers.

The building’s elaborate brick façade has been painstakingly restored, as has the Art Deco ornamentation that Ralph Walker made famous through architectural masterpieces such as One Wall Street and the Barclay-Vesey Building.

Built before neighborhood height limits were enacted, Walker Tower rises high above its surroundings and features stunning and protected 360-degree Manhattan views, soaring ceilings, and large tilt-and-turn windows.

More than half of the residences have private terraces, and there are 11 units with wood-burning fireplaces.

All units feature radiant floor heating throughout the entire residence, French herringbone oak flooring, Crestron Home Automation System, Smallbone of Devizes kitchens, marble bathrooms with Waterworks fixtures and steam showers, and Nanz hardware throughout.

Additionally, each residence includes a built-in zoned humidification system, an ultra-quiet central air conditioning and ventilation system, and a vented kitchen and dryer exhaust.

The comprehensive amenities package includes a 24-hour doorman, concierge, library lounge with pantry and bar, children’s playroom, fitness center with yoga room, sauna, and landscaped common roof deck with dining area, sun lawn, observation area, and covered cabana room.
